Quick Recap of the Week
Stocks fell last week. Volatility increased sharply as the Federal Reserve and several other central banks met. In addition, there was much concern about the upcoming Brexit vote. This caused international stock markets to fall even more than U.S. indices did.
Economic Data
Retail sales and housing starts came in higher than their forecasts. However, industrial production and jobless claims were worse-than-expected.
As anticipated, the Federal Reserve didn’t raise interest rates. The “four rate hikes in 2016” plan now looks very unlikely. Futures markets currently project no rate increases this year.
TSP Funds
The F Fund moved up a tiny 0.06%. All of the stock funds fell. The I Fund fell the most with a 1.91% loss. It was followed by the S Fund (1.28% loss) and then C Fund (1.13% loss).
