Quick Recap of the Week
Stocks moved up for a second straight week. The market digested a slew of data releases and corporate earnings reports. In addition, the Federal Reserve released their latest statement. The Fed said four interest rate hikes may still be on the table this year.
The Bank of Japan, on the other hand, introduced negative interest rates. International markets rallied. This spread to the U.S., where stocks had a massive gain on Friday.
Economic Data
As mentioned, there were many economic data releases last week. Among those with better-than-expected results were the Chicago purchasing managers index, jobless claims, new home sales and home prices. Coming in below expectations were gross domestic product, durable goods orders, pending home sales and the U.S. services index. Overall, it was a very mixed bag.
TSP Funds
